SANTIAGO DE CUBA, August 3 (Luis Alberto Rivera, APLO) - Last Monday, July 24, when the weekly Miami Air flight bound for the U. S. left the ground at Antonio Maceo International Airport in Santiago de Cuba, at 5:30 p.m., there was a spontaneous outburst among the people in the observation deck:
Liberty, liberty, they sang as a chorus.
The group, friends and relatives of those in the flight, clapped and kept singing the refrain. Some of them said that they were happy because their relatives were gone to a place where they could be free.
Shortly after the incident, several agents of the Department of State Security made their appearance and ordered the observation deck cleared.
There were no arrests.
