VILLA CLARA, June 5 (Isabel Rey, Cuba Press) Members of the State cooperatives of sugar cane producers expressed dissatisfaction with their status to researchers of the "Marta Abreu" Central University.
Members of the Basic Units of Cane Producers (UBPC) said they don't feel like owners-producers, as predicated by official dogma, but more like laborers. The study revealed that co-op members were unhappy with payments not pegged to productivity, with the lack of communications between workers
and administrators, and with the general disregard in which their opinions are held in matters that directly concern them.
Co-op members also pointed out to researchers that directors ignore their proposals and complaints, and that socially they treat them poorly.
