Drinking Is The Only Entertainment In Sagua de Tánamo

Juan Carlos Garcell, APLO

SANTIAGO DE CUBA, July – Young residents of Sagua de Tánamo, in Holguín province, eastern Cuba, don’t have a lot of options for recreation beyond the seven bars in town and cheaply made alcoholic beverages.

Alcohol is plentiful in this end of the island; it is one of the few things in Cuba that isn’t rationed. The government says this is the region with the highest consumption per capita.
