HAVANA, June 29 (Alida Viso Bello) - The Cuban Customs Service confiscated eleven books and six magazines sent via DHL to the independent library "Fernando Ortiz" in Havana.
Vicente Escobal, the director of the library, said customs authorities sent him an official notification, dated May 5, which stated they found the literature to be "against the general interests of the nation."
Among the books confiscated are: "Cuban Agriculture and Planning," "Stories From Here And There," and "Literary Annals," as well as three numbers of the magazines "Global Projection" and "Ideal."
