Youths fined for selling lobsters

HAVANA, March 3 (Richard Roselló / www.cubanet.org) - Authorities in the municipality of Batabanó on the south coast arrested and fined two youths for allegedly having and illegally selling lobsters.

More than 100 pounds of lobsters were found in their home when it was raidsed last week.

Leyania Martínez and her companion, whose name was not revealed, were fined 5,000 pesos each - the equivalent of a year's average salary - for trading in illegally held lobsters.

More than 30 people, mainly fishermen, have been apprehended in Batabanó in a government crackdown on private commerce.
