Prison inmate hangs himself after serving
17 years

- An inmate of the Guamajal prison in Villa
Clara province hanged himself after serving
17 years of a 29 year sentence.
Luis Enrique Martínez was found
in the number 8 ward of the prison.
Yaumara Reyes, a local political activist
pointed out his made the fifth suicide so
far this year, and traced the cause to ill
treatment of the inmates in the prisons.
