CIEGO DE ÁVILA, Cuba, February 17 (José Manuel Caraballo Bravo, APLA / www.cubanet.org) - Independent journalist Abel Escobar Ramírez says two police officers spent two and a half hours searching his home last week and removed personal effects and tools of his trade.

Escobar Ramírez said the material taken February 6 included a tape recorder, two raduo antennas, a computer mouse, a 12-volt transformer, diskettes and a magazine belonging to his son.

The policemen showed Escobar Ramírez what they said was a search warrant. They arrived at 6 p.m. and left at 8:30 p.m.
