Dissident accused of being responsible for anti-government graffiti

HAVANA, March 31 (Roberto Santana Rodríguez / www.cubanet.org) - Dissident Miguel Ángel López Herrera was detained by State Security agents in Guantanamo last week and accused of being the author of anti-government graffiti which appeared on the walls of the state library in 2005.

Marielis Castro, delegate of the dissident November 30 Democratic Party, said López Herrera was questioned by officer Juan González who told him that "revolutionary people" were indignant upon seeing graffiti calling for the release of political prisoners.

According to a source, López Herrera lost his post as a professor of computer sciences because of the incident with graffiti.
