Cuban film to premiere
in Hollywood

Havana.- The premiere of "Barrio
Cuba", the latest by outstanding Cuban
filmmaker Humberto Solas, will take place
in the Spielberg Auditorium and the Egyptian
Theater in Hollywood on November 1.
The announcement was made by US attorney
and spokesperson for the production company,
Stephen Rivers, who made possible the visits
to Cuba of Steven Spielberg, Kevin Costner,
Chris Lawford and other movie stars.
Barrio Cuba, which stars popular Cuban
actors Isabel Santos, Mario Limonta and
Aurora Basnuevo, tells the stories of seven
people living in humble housing in Havana
who are searching for love.
Humberto Solas is considered one of the
most important representatives of the New
Latin American Movie. He skyrocketed to
fame with such films as Lucia, Manuela,
Miel para Ochun and Un hombre de exito,
among others.
