Dissident cited for remodeling home without a permit

HAVANA, November 16 (Leonel Pérez Belette / www.cubanet.org) - Roberto Miranda Díaz, an officer of the Liberal Cuban Movement, has been cited for building a room for his mother-in-law, who lives with him and his wife, without first obtaining a permit.

Miranda Díaz faces the alternative of tearing down the walls or paying a fine.

When Miranda Díaz questioned the housing inspector who came to his home, she told him she was just a worker and that he was violating the law.

The inspector's visit coincides with a series of incidents lately involving harassment of dissidents in Cuba.
