- According to information provided to Anaika
Paneca Román, vice president of the
Democratic Party 30 of November "Frank
País" the political prisoner
Antonio Vladimir Roselló remains
"Plantado" in the maximum Security
prison Valle Grande where medical attention
is being denied to him for his position
against the Castro regime.
"The reeducator came to visit me during
the afternoon inspection and Socialist Indoctrination
and he informed "prisoners' councils"
or "disciplinary councils," that
I was a mere contra revolutionary to which
I replied that I don't accept anything provided
by the prison system,I live with what my
family can bring me to prison and that I
will continue "Plantado", sleeping
in bathrooms floors even though it is against
my health. I will not betray the principles
I am fighting for"- declared Roselló
in his clandestine note from the maximum
security prison of Valle Grande.
The Cuban political prisoner Antonio Vladimir
Roselló, who constantly denounces
the abuses committed inside the prison,
suffers from epileptic convulsions and also
a skin fungi that almost covers his entire
right arm. Doctors at the penal institution
have referred him to the hospital Julio
Trigo for specialized medical attention
but the authorities at the penal institution
deny him said medical assistance.
Antonio Vladimir Roselló, an activist
with the Democratic Party 30 of November
"Frank País" was arrested
on June 30, 2004, then on May 26, 2005 was
tried in the Cause 34/04 and sentenced to
2 years in prison for the "supposed"
crimes of discrediting the figure of the
commandant Fidel Castro, and also for contempt.
Note: The
"prisoners' councils" or "disciplinary
councils," are made up of common prisoners
at the service of prison authorities whom
rely on these individuals to beat up political
prisoners who reclaim their rights or file
any complaints.
