Dollar traders warned

SANTA CLARA, Cuba - June 17 (Karel Castillo, Cubanacán Press / www.cubanet.org) - Several dollar traders were rounded up by police in Santa Clara June 15. The men were taken to the first police station, where they were issued warning writs.

Dollar traders work illegally for a profit of one to two pesos per dollar.

Police came out of uniform in ones and twos, explained Julio Marrero, who said he is the neighbor of one of the traders arrested.

"They showed up by surprise, asked for their identification, and arrested them," he said.
