Building collapses in Old Havana
HAVANA, Cuba - June 10 (Juan Carlos Linares
Balmaseda / www.cubanet.org) - A 100-year-old
building in Old Havana collapsed June 7,
leaving about 30 residents homeless.
The building, in the heart of the old city,
on San Ignacio between Obrapía and
Lamparilla Streets, started making noises
just before collapsing, said residents,
giving them enough time to evacuate safely.
All their belongings were left behind, they
said.
