MPLA Delegation Expected In Cuba

Angola Press, January 20, 2005.

Luanda, 01/20 - A team with Angola's ruling MPLA party, led by its Secretary-General, Juliao Mateus Paulo "Dino Matross", on Thursday starts a week-long visit to Cuba, at the invitation of the local Communist Party, an official source has announced.

MPLA Secretary for Information, Norberto dos Santos "Kwata Kanawa", told Angop the visit takes place in the ambit of the friendship and cooperation ties between the two organisations.

The source did not mention the agenda, but said there are expected meetings with Cuban authorities and visits to locals of interest.

The delegation comprises the party Secretaries for Foreign Affairs, Paulo Jorge, and Social and Economic Policy, Manuel Junior, as well as the Chairman of the Angola/Cuba League of Friendship, Fernando Jaime, and other officials.
