Fired parolee must have job to meet parole
terms
HOLGUÍN, Cuba, February 23 (Juan
Carlos Garcell, APLO / www.cubanet.org)
- Oniel Herrera, who must remain employed
as a condition of his parole, was fired
in January after six days on his new job
when administrators learned he is a paroled
convict.
Herrera, 33, had found the job as a production
assistant in the Moa bakery after his release
from prison. He is a resident of Moa, and
has four years left of his sentence to serve,
provided he can hold down a regular job,
as the court requires. He hasn't been able
to find another job since he was fired from
the bakery.
