Students stricken with food poisoning

RANCHUELO, Cuba - April 15 (Félix Reyes Gutiérrez, Cubanacán Press / www.cubanet.org.) - Approximately 48 students who ate croquettes for dinner at the Miguel A. Pedroso technological school were stricken with food poisoning last Thursday.

After the students came down with vomiting and diarrhea, school officials summoned medical personnel, who treated the ailing students at the school.

After the initial bouts were contained, students who were vomiting were kept at the school under observation, and the others were sent home.

The Miguel A. Pedroso technological school is about a mile from Ranchuelo and specializes in studies related to the sugar industry. Its students are all live-in.
