Graduation of medical students suspended
for lack of resources
SANTA CLARA, Cuba, August 30 (Feliberto
Pérez, Cubanacán Press / www.cubanet.org)
- Medical students say their graduation
ceremony in the capital was called off for
lack of resources even though Latin American
students were meted.
The students said that four days before
the ceremony, scheduled for last Saturday,
they were advised it had been postponed
until an unspecified date because of a lack
of resources.
"The resources appeared for the Latin
Americans," said one of the students.
He was referring to students of the Latin
American School of Medicine, who received
silver rings and books and whose parents
were invited to the ceremony and put up
as guests at the Triton Hotel.
