Pedicabs confiscated in Havana province
HAVANA, Cuba, September 29 (Leannes Imbert
Acosta, Corriente Martiana / www.cubanet.org)
- Police and government inspectors confiscated
24 pedicabs whose owners operated without
the required licenses in San José
de las Lajas.
The owners, who had built the machines
mostly out of scavenged parts, said they
had applied repeatedly to the taxing authorities,
only to the told licenses would not be available
"until further notice."
