FROM CUBA
Cuban independent journalist confined to home on Mother's Day

HAVANA, May 11 (www.cubanet.org) - Ana Leonar Díaz of Grupo Decoro says she was forced by a state security agent to remain at home on Mother's Day.

Díaz said she was prevented from leaving the building in which she lives by two agents, one of whom was named "Moisés," when she planned to visit her aunt on Sunday, May 9.

She was able to leave in the afternoon after the second agent left the door of the building, where he had been posted.

Díaz said she believes the action was taken against her to prevent her attendance at a Sunday Mass in the Saint Rita Church along with the Ladies in White, the name given to women whose dissident husbands are imprisoned.
