Clandestine soft drink operation raided in Cuba

SANTA CLARA, CUBA, June 7 (Belkis Rodríguez Bravo, Cubanacán Press / www.cubanet.org) - Five police agents last week raided a house where soft drinks were being made clandestinely.

The police, who arrived in two patrol cars and a truck, took away 20 boxes of empty bottles, two tanks of carbon dioxide, a sack of sugar and a bottling machine.

The fate was not known of the owner of the house, a man nicknamed "El Boby."

The police have been cracking down on clandestine factories which supply the island's informal economy.
