Judge bars paroled dissident from traveling to Havana

HAVANA, July 1 (Anna Rosa Veitía / www.cubanet.org) - Paroled Cuban dissident Juan Carlos González said the judge in charge of his case, Juan Enrique Balar, barred him from traveling to Havana June 30.

González, 39, had requested a permit under the terms of his parole to travel to the capital in order to take care of migratory paperwork. González is currently subject to a four-year prison sentence. He is the president of the Cuban Foundation for Human Rights and lives in Ciego de Ávila province.
