Cuban agricultural workers not paid on time

NUEVA GERONA, Cuba, February 13 (Carlos Serpa Maceira, UPECI / www.cubanet.org) - Salaries for the 44 employees of the Revolución Co-op in the Isle of Youth have been as much as 15 days late in the last two months because, managers say, the company doesn't have the liquidity.

Héctor Pacha, of the independent labor organization CONIC said the salary for February, due on the 5th, has not been paid to date.

CONIC officials said the Revolución Co-op has an outstanding debt with the Bank of Credit and Commerce, although the exact amount is in question.

The co-op produces vegetable crops.
