Water prices up five days after hurricane

HAVANA, August 18 (Richard Roselló / www.cubanet.org) - As Havana residents start running out of the water supplies they laid aside in preparation for hurricane Charley, a 55-gallon drum full of water is going for 60 pesos, up from 20 before.

Municipal water service has been out for five days and authorities expect it will remain out until electric service is reactivated to run the pumps, possibly another week.
