Fire at Cuban telephone central station
puts out four exchanges
HAVANA, Cuba, August 2 (Ana Leonor Díaz,
Grupo Decoro / www.cubanet.org) - A fire
of unknown origin at the Lawton central
telephone station put four exchanges out
of service, according to government television
reports.
The company's repair number, 114, is out
of service for all of the metropolitan area.
The Lawton telephone station is equipped
with digital Chinese technology. The exchanges
affected are 44, 90, 98, and 99, which are
assigned to the Lawton, Arroyo Naranjo,
Boyeros, and partly to Santiago de las Vegas,
districts.
