Anti-government slogans in "school in the countryside"

CIEGO DE ÁVILA, November 25 (www.cubanet.org) - An unlikely slogan, Down with Fidel, showed up overnight painted on a wall of the Eulogio Fernández "school in the countryside" a few kilometers outside the city of Morón, in Ciego de Ávila province.

Political police and Communist Party representatives scrambled to the school once a custodian notified the school's director of what he had found. No arrests have been made, as far as is known, despite the intensive questioning of students and workers at the facility.

The "schools in the countryside" are typically isolated in rural regions, and students, who are compelled to attend, do agricultural work in the area in addition to their studies.
