Cuban
parents will be asked to do guard duty at
schools where equipment is being stolen
HAVANA, November 5 (www.cubanet.com) --
Teachers, parents and students are going
to be asked at a meeting scheduled for Friday
to do guard duty at Havana area schools
where television and video equipment has
been disappearing.
The November 7 meeting was planned by the
Provincial Education Office following a
discussion of the thefts with the presidents
of local school councils.
"It's inadmissible that these crimes
are taking place in public," an education
source commented.
The father of one student commented: "I
can't divide my time any more between during
guard duty for my block committee and my
labor center."
