Government supporter evicted from apartment in which she was raised

HOLGUIN, Cuba, November 15 (www.cubanet.org) - A 27-year-old university professor has been evicted from the family apartment where she has lived all of her life, according to the woman's aunt.

María Pastora said her niece, Yudelis Alfonso, belonged to a family that has always supported the Cuban revolution. She said the apartment was owned by Alfonso's family.

Alfono's father, José Enrique Alfonso González, a secondary school teacher, was recently sentenced to seven years imprisonment for sexual crimes.

Some 20 policemen and government officials physically removed Alfonso and her possessions, including furniture, from the third-floor apartment after the woman refused to leave voluntarily. She moved in with relatives.

"We're a revolutionary family and we don't have anything against the revolution," said the aunt. "But we have to denounce the abuse, the lies, and the violations."

Alfonso teaches communications at the Moa University.
