East Havana residents without water for six days

HAVANA, Cuba, October 13 (www.cubanet.org) - By Friday, residents of Alamar in East Havana, had made do for six days without water service in their homes, and were complaining that tanker trucks had not been provided by the municipal authorities.

An official of Havana Water said Thursday in a TV program that water problems in Alamar had become chronic and added that a definitive solution was not expected until next year.

Alamar residents said they learned that the lack of water was due to a break in a water main.
