HAVANA, March 13 (Claudia Márquez Linares, Grupo Decoro /
www.cubanet.org) - Over 400 students at the "René OReine"
business and hospitality polytechnic school in Havana must donate blood as part
of their program of studies.
Last week, school administrators told students that the school must fulfill
a government mandate for 200 blood donations.
Students at the school are mostly 16- to 18-year-olds, and many have said
they will not participate in the program.
Some parents have donated blood instead of their children.
