HAVANA, July 17 (Carlos Alberto Dominguez/Cuba-Verdad / cubanet.org) - Five
prisoners were being sought after fleeing the Valle Grande Prison in pre-dawn
darkness July 7.
The men took advantage of the fact that most of the lights illuminating the
security fence of the prison were not working because they were broken.
The escape was discovered during a head-count in the morning.
The identities of the escapees were not known, except that one was nicknamed
"El Loco," the crazy one.
Three weeks ago another prisoner managed to escape.
Most of the guards are young recruits fulfilling their military obligations.
