Same food served dogs in the penal kennel is being served to prisoners at Combinado de Guantánamo

(GUANTÁNAMO, January 19)–The provincial maximum security prison Combinado de Guantánamo is considered a concentration camp, where prisoners are not only being subjected to all cruel and torturous treatments but the food they are being served is either rotted or filled with worms, as it has been happening with a well-known food called cerela, a kind of a cereal that is being served to prisoners at breakfast and also to the dogs in the penal kennel. These dogs are trained to attack and bite the prisoners as one of the many means of torture.

Another meal served to prisoners as the main course also filled with worms is the well-known morcilla casserole, which is nothing more than a blend of flour with blood coming taken from cows.

Also, the food offered to prisoners and especially to him, is terrible and scarce and the repression against him personally is increasing on a daily basis for his posture against the Castro regime.

The Guantanamo Naval Base

http://www.puenteinfocubamiami.org/guantanamo.html

(GUANTÁNAMO, January 18th) –The installation of the Guantánamo Naval Base is an area, which covers c.45 sq mi (116 sq km) with one of the best inlets in the Country. In the past, this Base has served as a refuge to Thousands of Cubans who were forced to seek asylum due to the harassment and repression of the totalitarian regime of Fidel Castro.

In 1994 a large number of Cuban rafters were gathered at the base, this situation helped improve the tense relations between the naval base authorities and the government of Cuba.

In 1999 when the government of the United States notified the Cuban government of their plans to use the base as safe heaven for the refugees from Kosovo, the government in Havana stated that they were going to cooperate and said they had offered to provide whatever may be medically necessary and any other services they would need, but ultimately, the Kosovo refugees were brought to the naval base.

In July of last year, through mutual agreement between both authorities, the general teaching hospital "Agustino Neto" of Guantánamo, was visited by high-ranking naval base officials after having completed recent major repairs in their most important wards, said repairs were facilitated with U.S. funds, all of this took place under complete secrecy.

It is no surprise that the government of Cuba as a communist regime omits information, manipulates the facts and publishes or informs only what is convenient for them to publish.

The roads that join Guantánamo with the naval base were also repaired, as were the telephone lines that run along the entire frontier. However, the people of Cuba were informed that these repairs were being made in response to possible future natural disasters so that the personnel in that enclave could have access to the hospital in case of need.

After the terrorist act of September 11, 2001 perpetrated against the people of The United States, which caused the subsequent declaration of war against the Taliban in Afghanistan, the Government of the United States has decided to transfer the prisoners of war to the naval base. They notified their intentions to the Cuban Government on January 7, 2002.

Since then, and due to the possibility of escape of members of the Taliban and their crossing over to Cuban territory, a situation which could cause a conflict between Cuba and the United States, the Cuban Government issued a press release stating that Cuba will not increase the personnel nor its military stationed on the perimeter of that installation.

What the Cuban Government doesn't say is that ever since the prisoners began to arrive at the Base in Guantánamo, a special force troop unit is in place in the Cuban perimeter with the Base (ready for combat), and that this same unit has reinforced the mine field all throughout the perimeter Surrounding the base nor has it made public the fact that they have put in place many more surveillance cameras all pointing to the military installation.

The press release further states that the Cuban military personnel stationed on the perimeter around the base is highly disciplined and qualified, enough to guarantee that there would be no risk to the Cuban population living in zones close to the frontier

In reality, penetration through that area towards Cuban territory is very difficult for they would have to cross a stretch of mined field of approximately 150 meters and go over a security fence which immediately detects the exact location upon contact.

The Cuban population does fear having to have the terrorist detained in the Naval Base in Guantánamo.

In closing, speaking of terrorists, this coming January 19th, is the 8th anniversary of the horrendous killings of Kande Malera Pedroso and Ángel Luis Valverde Linfernal, whose bodies were pierced with bullets by Cuban boarder patrols on January 19, 1994, when these young men tried to reach the naval base in search of freedom, fleeing from the terrorism of state imposed in Cuba by the Castro Brothers, whom have brought so many deaths and suffering to the Cuban people, implanting a reign of terror and death since day one of their revolution.

From the Presss Bureau of the 30th of November in the city of Havana reported, Ferdinando Castro de Lardiller, provincial Delegate in Guantánamo of the Democratic Party 30 of November "Frank País". For the Information Bridge Cuba Miami, given on January 2002.

this action humiliating and discriminatory for it's lack of merits.

A few days prior to January 10th, Luis Blanco Placeres, manager of the Institute in question made a public statement stating that Jimenez was not politically reliable for he confronted problems with the State Security for being a promoter of respect for Human Rights in Cuba, although they used supposed labor violations such as absences and supposed unfulfilled agreements involving the executives in that Company.
