HAVANA, April 27 (Manuel David Orrio, CPI) - An outbreak of hepatitis A and
B in the south-central Cuban community of Santa Cruz del Sur, Camagüey
province, has affected nearly 500 people.
"Approximately 15 cases are seen daily at the Santa Cruz del Sur
hospital," said human rights activist René Fernández Quiroga.
Health authorities have not been able to determine the source of the
epidemic. Calls to the Ministry of Public Health to confirm details of the
outbreak went unanswered.
