Workers not paid on account of theft

BAYAMO, February 3 (Víctor M. Domínguez García, Lux InfoPress) – Workers at the "Mayan" cabaret here, reputedly one the largest in all of Latin America, have not been paid their salary for the month of January "because there was a robbery or theft in the company’s offices," as administrators explained to them.

Administrators also told the workers that they would not be paid until the perpetrators are caught. The relationship between the theft and their salaries was not immediately apparent to the workers, who have exhibited various degrees of dissatisfaction.
