HAVANA, March 29 (Moraima Pires, Grupo de Trabajo Decoro) - The single bus
carrying passengers between Limonar and Matanzas often leaves its riders with
the impression that the cities are not connected.
The service is unstable, according to one frequent rider. The bus often
doesn't run
because of lack of fuel or spare parts. Among the affected users are the
students of a "middle school in the country" in Jagüey Grande;
the lack of transportation means that sometimes they can't even go see a
doctor.
The owner of a truck who lives in Limonar adapted his vehicle to transport
passengers, but the authorities have not given him the required permit.
A resident perhaps reflected a widespread view when he said "This is
where you see that the government doesn't care to solve the problems people
have. If not, they would have given the man his license so he could at least
help improve transportation between Limonar and Matanzas."
