Minor Child Continues Separated From Her Exiled Mother

CIEGO DE AVILA, September 18 (Juan Carlos González, FRACIC) - Noemí Herbello Cruz is not allowed to join her mother in exile in the United States and is about to miss out on the school year for the second time.

The minor is the daughter of Milagros Cruz Cano, a blind dissident who recently went into exile. The girl couldn’t accompany her mother because her father refused to give her permission to leave unless he were given 2,500 dollars. The mother left alone.

Noemí refuses to go to school because -she says- she is afraid of those who persecuted and accused her mother and in protest against her father who never took care of her, physically or spiritually.

Cuban authorities continue giving Cruz evasive answers as she seeks to have her daughter join her in the U. S.
