The presidents of El Salvador and Cuba have had another public clash.
President Francisco Flores of El Salvador has cancelled a meeting with the
Cuban president Fidel Castro, that he had arranged for next week in Mexico.
The two leaders had a fierce exchange at the recent Ibero-American Summit.
Mr Castro accused Mr Flores of protecting a Cuban exile, Luis Posada
Carriles, who had attempted to assassinate him. Mr Flores responded by blaming
President Castro for the deaths of many Salvadorans, by training revolutionaries
during El Salvador's civil war.
Following Mr Castro's continued accusations of what he called Mr Flores'
complicity in the attempt on his life, Mr Flores cancelled the meeting saying he
had nothing more to say to Mr Castro.
