HAVANA, March 27 (Reinaldo Cosano Alén) - Officials of the UN World Food Program toured eastern Granma province to monitor progress of a joint UN-Cuba development project.
The Development Project for Agricultural Production was started in 1998 with a 17 million dollar investment to promote agricultural production and women's participation in agriculture.
The effort is trying to overcome years of drought and poor management of agriculture that have held back development in this province.
