SANTIAGO DE CUBA, March 9 (Luis Alberto Rivera, APLO) - Mothers of infant children in the Veguita de Galo subdivision of this city in eastern Cuba claim baby food preserves they were sold caused their children to get sick.
The mothers say their children started suffering from diarhea after eating the preserves sold here. One mother said: "First they were late with the preserves and now they distribute bad food which made the children sick."
The mother referred to the fact that for three months there weren't any baby food preserves available in Veguita de Galo, even though Cuban children under 4 years of age are entitled to 14 jars of preserves a month. The authorities explained that the scarcity was due to lack of raw materials to
process the preserves.
