SANTIAGO DE CUBA, June 22 (Juan Carlos Garcell, APLO) A clothing store is selling salt at 2 pesos per pound, but doesnt have enough clothes to satisfy demand; grocery stores are supposed to sell salt at 8 cents per pound but dont have any.
Clothing store "La Campana" in Sagua de Tánamo, Holguín province, in eastern Cuba, is selling the salt, but for some time has not had enough clothes to fulfill its quotas. Grocery stores have not had salt yet this month, so customers have not been able to buy their ¾
pound per month allotment.
One passerby said: "There is no salt in the market due to the internal blocade of the Communist bureaucracy against Cubans."
