Street Lights Stolen In Manzanillo

HAVANA, June 20 (Carmelo Díaz Fernández, APSIC) - Fifty-eight street lamps along Avenue Camilo Cienfuegos in Manzanillo, Granma province, in eastern Cuba have been stolen.

The word in the streets is that the long tubes that hold the lamps aloft are used to line wells in this mostly agricultural area. Some of the stolen lamps have been simply unbolted from their bases; others have been cut.

There have been no reports of suspects or even of an investigation by police.
