HAVANA, June 8 (Lucas Garve, CPI) The three westernmost provinces in Cuba suffered blackouts on Wednesday night and Thursday morning lasting up to 18 hours when lightning hit the electrical grid.
The provinces of Pinar del Río, Havana City and Havana went dark after 6 p.m. on Wednesday when lighning hit the power grid in Matanzas province.
Most areas had service restored by early Thursday, and all power was restored by noon.
