SANTIAGO DE CUBA, July 20 (Luis Alberto Rivera, APLO) The Cuban manager of a five-star hotel here was fired for not informing the Communist Party of his Spanish counterparts decision to allow prostitutes free access to the facility.
The manager, Otto Yánez Rivero, a member of the provincial committee of the Party himself, was told at Party headquarters that he should have informed the organization immediately when the Spanish managers authorized him to allow the prostitutes access to the hotel as a means of
increasing revenue.
The hotel, like many others like it, is operated as a joint venture between the Spanish hotel chain and the Cuban government. As a rule, Cubans are not allowed access to hotels destined to accomodate tourists.
