Two Arrested For Displaying Human Rights Posters

HAVANA, July 20 (Ohalys Víctore, Cuba-Voz) – Two members of a human rights organization in Pedro Betancourt, Matanzas province, were arrested for exhibiting posters calling for freedom in front of a house.

The posters read "Do not be afraid, the country belongs to all" and "Liberty for prisoners of conscience." The dissidents, Juan Francisco Martínez Linares and Roberto Noriega Ibáñez, displayed them in front of Noriega's house. They were taken to the police unit in the town, where they were interrogated and booked. They were subsequently released.
