MIAMI -- Two Cuban migrants were nabbed on Dinner Key Wednesday morning but eight others managed to stay free, the Border patrol said.
The migrants -- six men, two women and two children -- were dropped off by a boat from Havana around 3 a.m. The migrants were from either Mantanzas or Cardenas in Cuba.
The two men that were caught were sent to Krome Detention Center in western Miami-Dade County for processing.
The landing touched off a Coast Guard search of Biscayne Bay for the boat and the missing migrants Wednesday morning.
The helicopter search was launched about 3 a.m. Wednesday after the two migrants landed at Dinner Key and were caught, said Coast Guard Petty Officer Robert Suddarth.
As of 9 a.m., the Coast Guard search by a had found nothing.
