Dissidents Hold Memorial In Havana’s Waterfront

HAVANA, July 13 (Oswaldo de Céspedes, CPI) - Members of the July 13 Movement held a memorial in the early morning hours in Havana’s waterfront boulevard for the victims of the tugboat sunk by government vessels six years ago.

The dissidents cast flowers and 41 crosses on the water to simbolize the 41 victims. After the memorial the dissidents returned to a vigil that was held between midnight and 10 a.m. today at a house in 10 de Octubre municipality.

The event’s primary purpose, said Clara Morales Martínez, president of the Movement, is to call attention to human rights violations in Cuba.
