HAVANA, June 29 (Moraima Pires, Grupo Decoro) -On June 24 three inspectors from the Municipal Services department fined more that 30 pedestrians for walking on the grass at the intersection of 100 Street and Avenida de Boyeros, in Havana. There are no signs in the area warning pedestrians not to
walk on the grass. As a matter of fact, there is no grass there.
The pedestrians protested the fines bitterly and asked the officials to give their names. Only one identified herself as Magaly Broche Valdés, saying "We are obligated to meet the citation plan given to us by our director; he demands that we meet the quota."
