HAVANA, April 3 (Mery Miranda, Cuba Press) - Pedro Larena Ibáñez, a delegate of the Democratic Solidarity Party in Cienfuegos province, south-central Cuba, was arrested along with seven others and charged with attempted illegal flight from the island.

The authorities confiscated a motor launch, a soviet-built Moskvich automobile and 19,000 pesos from Larena Ibáñez. The group was attempting to leave Cuba from a point in the southern coast, near the bay of Jagua.

The others in the group were Casildo Larena, Manuel Díaz, Javier Ledo, Tandris León, Gilberto Rodríguez, Javier Leal and Luis González. Only Javier Leal is still under arrest.
