FROM CUBA
Trains haven't run in a month

MORON, Cuba - October 4 (Tico Morales, APLA / www.cubanet.org) - The trains serving the route between Morón and Santa Clara and points in between have not run since August after the rains washed away some of the track.

Travelers in the four provinces served by trains 80 and 81 have been left to their own devices.

Last summer's rains washed away parts of the track, primarily the ties in the vicinity of bridges. A railroad employee said that service might be reinstated by next February, at least for some segments of the route.
