Townspeople irked by housing decision

RANCHUELO, Cuba, September 25 (Félix Reyes Gutiérrez, Cubanacán Press / www.cubanet.org) - In spite of a grass roots campaign by the people of Ranchuelo to have housing authorities assign a house to a woman who has a mental disorder, the house was granted to an entity of the municipal government, irking the population.

"Everything remained within the family," said one resident when he learned of the decision. The house was vacated by a Jorge Enrique Armas, who went into exile. Those who leave the country must first sign over their homes to the government.
