Two attempt escape from high security prison

CAMAGUEY, Cuba - June 8 (Marilyn Díaz Fernández, Lux Info Press / www.cubanet.org) - Two inmates in the Camagüey province prison Cerámica Roja attempted to escape during the night of May 30. The two, aged 23 and 34, were apprehended.

One, Rafael Infante, also knows as The Midget, got caught up in the high voltage fence surrounding the prison grounds and suffered burns and wounds that sent him to the hospital Amalia Simoni in Camagüey. There was no word from authorities about his condition.

The other escapee, Emilio Milanés, known as Las Tunas, was apprehended and beat up by prison guards, among them the chief of security for the prison Ernesto Ondarza, and a shift supervisor named Sardiñas.
